Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineer to join a well-established, fast paced manufacturer based in Caerphilly, South Wales. The company supply a range of industries and are considered a leader within their field. The role is a based on working a shift pattern of days, afternoons & nights Monday-Friday.  You can expect to achieve a salary of £29,900.

 

The Role
Reporting into the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible to maintain and develop plant and machinery in accordance with efficiency, safety and quality standards.
Duties will include:

  • To maintain and develop plant and equipment and improve line/machine performance;
  • To initiate and undertake curative corrective, planned and productive maintenance;
  • To respond rapidly and flexibly to machine production requirements;
  • To bring about improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness;
  • To actively contribute to working groups;
  • To maintain and improve a safe working environment by adhering to safe working practices and assuring machine safety;
  • To undergo training, where necessary;
  • To train others;
  • To assist in the development and introduction of new equipment, systems and idea-generation through:
    • Installation and commissioning equipment;
    • Contributing to working groups/meetings;
    • Monitoring equipment;
    • Assisting with line trials;
    • Assisting with the implementation of new techniques such as SMED, Kanban, Productive Maintenance and Uptime;
    • Maintain and improve standards of Quality, Housekeeping and Hygiene;
    • Perform line changeovers in cooperation with, or in the absence of, the line operator;

 

The Candidate

  • G.C.S.E. English & Mathematics grades A*-D (or equivalent)
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience of working in a FMCG factory environment as an Engineer
  • IET Wiring Regulations qualification (Desirable)
  • Health and Safety qualification (Desirable)
  • GMP awareness (Desirable)
  • Experience of working in the cosmetics or pharmaceutical manufacturing industry (Desirable)
  • IT Literate
  • Able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
  • COMPEX experience
  • PLC experience
  • Proactive.

 

The Package

  • Pattern of working:  3 shifts Sunday night to Friday 10/6, 6/2, 2/10 +overtime
  • Salary: £29,900
  • Company Pension Scheme:  Standard Life, Employee Contribution 5% Employer Contribution 3%
  • Holidays:  23 days per annum (2 extra days with service) plus 8 Statutory Days
